Fire Department
Mission Statement
The mission of the Englewood Fire Department is to provide modern, timely, and efficient emergency services
to the citizens of our community through continuous preparedness and education.
The Englewood Fire Department provides emergency service to the town of Englewood and its surrounding area. We currently provide fire suppression, vehicle extrication, and medical first response. We also provide fire prevention programs to our local schools and churches. The department has a modern fleet of emergency vehicles, two of which are furnished by McMinn County and one provided by the Englewood Rural Fire Department. All equipment is used to provide protection to our fire district.
We are staffed by 25 volunteer fire personnel who are subject to call at any time. We train approximately 8 hours per month. All fire personnel are required to complete the Basic Firefighter I and II with the state of Tennessee.
We also provide an Explorer program through the Boy Scouts of America. Through this program, young people ages 14-18 can participate in various aspects of the firefighting area. They are required to train with the fire department personnel, but are not allowed to be in a dangerous situation. Many of our current fire personnel are products of our Explorer program.
